The navigation buttons can be globally controled in your global configuration or manually in individual menu items.
Global configuration
Go to System>>Global Configuration
On the right sidebar list find “Articles” then scroll for the navigation line
Change the setting to fit your needs
Save and Close
Individually in a menu item
Select the menu item you want to alter the navigation settings
Go to the Options tab and scroll for navigation
Change the setting to fit your needs
Save and Close
